A celebrity team of the 'hardest men to play football' will be lining to play Growers United FC on Sunday 14th July 2019 with the objective of appealing to young people to say no to knife crime.

Growers United charity together with Winning Mindset and former boxer turned actor Joe Egan have pulled together an ALL-STAR TEAM (nicknamed the 'Hard Men') to play against a Growers United FC select eleven on Sunday 14th July 2019 in order to deliver a clear message aimed at young people - "Say No to Knife Crime".

Joe Egan's ALL-STARS will include sportsmen and celebrities including World Champion boxers and martial artists, footballing legends and well-known actors.

Both Joe Egan and the founders of Growers United believe that sport is an important way to reach out to young people in order to convince them not to carry a knife but to use their amazing skills, talents and energy to live life instead.

Joe, winner of over 80 boxing matches and sparring partner to World Champions Mike Tyson and Lennox Lewis says "Sport is a great example of how you can channel energy in a positive way, with for your health and even as a career; just look at the young people taking to the football pitch for club or country or taking to the ring to complete at the highest levels".

With the rise in knife crime across the UK and the continuous news stories reaching us via tv and social media of injuries and deaths relating to knife crime, Growers United FC together with Winning Mindset and Big Joe's All Stars want to come together and deliver a clear and unified message to young people to not carry knives.
