Exciting 'Soap Stars Team' Named

Some of the Soap Stars who will be participating in the Charity Match against Growers United on 26th June have been named.

Herewith some of the names;

- Danny Miller – Emmerdale

Danny has been a regular down on the Farm since his first appeared way back in 2008 playing Aaron Livesy/Dingle. Since his debut 8 years ago Danny has gone on to make 380+ episodes in Emmerdale, playing key roles in many of the soaps gripping storylines over the years. His inclusion in these famous storylines and talented acting explains his long list of TV awards and nominations.

- Jake Quickenden – Xfactor, Im a celebrity get me out of here!

Jake will be no stranger to fans of Saturday night TV after impressing Simon Cowell and the other judges back in 2014 on the hit reality TV show . In the 2014 version of the show he was quite rightly selected to be one of the series finalists and instantly became a success with the ladies. His second album is out now! Since his singing stardom made him a household name he has also finished runner up in ITV’s to Carl Frogarty.

- Cel Spellman – BBC Radio 1

Cel’s has an impressive filmography appearing in many of our favourite TV shows and just to name a few. Since July 2015, Cel has had his own Radio Show on Sunday afternoons on BBC Radio 1. The future is bright for Spellman, this year he will star as Matthew in the upcoming sixth series of British comedy-drama Cold Feet.

- David Dunn – Blackburn Rovers, Birmingham City

David has made well over 400 appearances in a professional footballing career spanning 18 years in the beautiful game notably applying his trade for , . A string of fine performances in the English Premier League back in 2002 earned his first cap for against . David was still turning out professionally for up as recently as January 2016 he combined his roles for the club as a combative midfielder to become the team’s first team manager in 2015.

- Paul Dickov – Arsenal, Manchester City, Leicester City

The second International to join the Soap Stars XI is Paul Dickov, he will add some extra firepower in front of goal for sure. Paul is a seasoned football pro with a career spanning 21 years with first started at in 1990 and ending in for in 2011 making over 300 appearances. Paul has played for some of top clubs winning many honours notably the 1994 Cup winners Cup with . During his career Dickov also represented senior squad 10 times scoring one goal against the back in 2003. His combative forward approach resulted in y manager at the time Joe Royle naming him "The Wasp".

- Joe Gill – Emmerdale

Joe is famous for his role as Finn Barton on the popular British soap opera . He has appeared in nearly 150 episodes of the series between December of 2013 and March of 2015. In 2014 Joe was part of the Emmerdale team that took on Coronation Street on .

- Anthony Hutton – Big Brother 6 Winner

Anthony first appeared on our screens in 2005 on the reality TV show , taking the house by storm and winning the competition after receiving 57.3% of the public votes in the final live show. In 2010 he returned to the BB house to take part in the Ultimate Big Brother Task. Since winning BB Anthony has appeared in SKY TV’s production of representing .

- George Sampson – Britain’s Got Talent Winner

Another reality TV winner lacing up for the Soap Stars team is George, who came to the public spotlight on the second series of . His street dancing performances impressed the judges and the public alike a quite rightly winning the show at the young age of 14. Since his BGT win George has appeared regularly on our TV screens in , and as of 2016 he has joined up with Danny on the cast.

- Carlo Nash –Manchester City, Wigan

One more ex-football player joining the team is Carlo, this time between the sticks. Known for being a safe pair of hands his has played at the highest level of the English game for many years with a career spanning 21 years as a professional turning out for the likes of , , and . The latter of which he helped gain promotion to the Premier League in 2008. He eventually retired in 2014 after making over 270 appearances in goal for some of England’s best clubs.

- Daniel Jillings –Prey

Dan is the star of the hit ITV drama playing DC Gibbons. The BFTA nominated show propelled him into homes across the country gaining him nationwide recognition. He has also appeared in the likes of Emmerdale, Coronation Street and The Royal.

- Dean Smith – Last Tango in Halifax

Dean has been a regular on popular British the since the shows introduction in 2012. The 4th series of the show is currently in production and will be on our screens shortly. The programme attracts impressive ratings for BBC One, with the third series posting an average of 7.8 million viewers. Figures peaked with the concluding episode, which attracted nearly 8.2 million. Dean has also been a regular cast member of playing Philip Ryan.
